Dear Friends
Hairline Fractures are the most common and unnoticed type of fracture on radiographs. As the name suggests fracture line in as thin as a hair so often gets unnoticed.
There are only three ways to suspect a Hairline Fracture:
1. Overuse History like marching, dancing etc.
2. Occupational History as common in army recruits, belly dancers.
3. Pain on Application of Therapeutic Ultrasound as it leads to formation of shear waves.
It is also k/a Stress Fracture.
I am herby attaching a radiograph of Hairline Fracture of Femur in this thread.
Its really interesting. Do give your comments on it.
