see FSBPT.org
graduates from India will no longer be allowed to take NPTE board exam untill new exam is available in fall of 2011.  Even then it will only be offered once a year.  sad news.  Can some one tell me how prevalent this sharing of questions was in India.

The news was already posted in our news section. Anyway, thanks for the update Guru.

I personally have no first hand experience even to say this practice existed in India. But there are a handful of PT websites/forums which I'm aware of that mostly had Indian or Pakistani origin user-base which were sharing copyright materials related to NPTE but they were either owned by PTs (may be of Indian or Pakistani origin) working outside of India. Interestingly those websites had other nationals too in their user-base.

Anyway the decision is pretty unfortunate.

i wasnt aware of any sharing of live files from NPTE , it is disturbing for sure and jeopardise the quality of PT's having a US license, also the PT's looking for a US license from those countries.

The FSBPT should be answerable to this issue since it represent a democratic nation where human rights means lot more, represents a medical field which needs professional, mature, strong and guided actions , and represents a professional community. The impact of any decision taken by such a body has a lot of consequences and i dont think the board really does understand the consequences of this action though they say they do.

A lot of PT's have already sacrificed a lot of time, energy, money and even their career in homelands for a PT license in the US. What happens to them all? They all trusted in the board to be responsible and never thought is going to push them away halfway through the process. Where is the rights of those people here?
It is the responsibilty of the board regarding the security of the test and not the candidates. It is for such things aswell candidates pay up the board. If someone breaks the law board should take action against them and should not be generalising a part of the community for that. I dont see how PT's from only these countries are involved. The suspected organisation is in philipines and if the FSBPT can feel it can go across filipino border to india or pakistan or even to israel, then how come it cannot go beyond many more borders? The forensic datas they say about shoudl be brought public to prove it unless and until it can only be said as factual assumption with available datas. In that case they should go to the extend of using the forensic evidence to pinpoint the culprits and nab them.
It is completely biased a decision of formulating a different test and a different evaluation for certain PT's. THere is going to be just one test a year limiting the number of applicants/aspirants and no one knows about the evaluation for the test. There is lot of confusion in their order of a new yearly test for these PT's , that itself raises a lot of questions. If they feel questions are leaked , let them prepare a new set of queries and conduct the tests as usual, why singling out a certain group of PT's. there shoudl be a different hidden agenda than they sound. The Board here is acting like any other boards of a third world country in the name of saving american people from bad PT's.  Sharing of materials if happened through onnline then should be available in every nook and corner of the world and not just in philipines, india, pakistan or israel.
The impact of this decision is very wide and i feel it is either the lack of good judgement to come out with such a decision or it is completely biased a decision.  And i hope there is something done against this injustice.

Definitely  they should take action against those involved and not generalize. They should also take a re-test for the people whom they have forensic evidence against be it any national. They must be having details about when all this supposedly started. Those who are genuine will nevertheless clear.

This letter was mailed to FSBPT, to Pres. Obama as well as to few congressmen. It is also intended to be mailed to various media centers as well as to all state PT boards. Likelyhood of an action pertaining to the complaint at present cannot be gauged but is hoped for. More inputs, suggestions and comments are expected.
