Thanks for the news Ajin . IAP shoudl use thsi oppurtunity to prove that they r stil in the game ..and seems that they r doing a good job !
Seperate councils for both OT and PT is desirable , but still i dont feel it to be a necessity though seperate registers shoudl be maintained ! It is true that MCI and DCI have only persons in their register in thier ranks , things woudl be pretty much easy for us too if the same appiled for our council too..but the majority is still PT's in this proposed council !

But I too stands for a correction in this definition of Pt in the Bill . More clear definition shoudl help ! It does not include our abilities to diagnose or plan the treatment ! And yes , IAp has pointed out abut the electoral process ..yes i feel it too must be modified .

robin i think more time needs to be given to all concerned to make deliberations and corrections in this regard cos it should never be a hasty process.....when it comes to india i think very few projects are completed on time, why is everyone so hasty in getting this bill passed......i didnt know what iap was doin until i read the above links, ya hats off to them for trying....

Its great to have everyone's view about the bill. Thanks a lot to all who have put forward their views, and all who haven't, please come forward and post them here no matter how trivial you think they are.

At the same time keep those posts away that is merely for some vested interests, its not the time for that.

I THINK THE MAIN FACTOR THAT KEEPS US FROM OPPOSING THE BILL AT PRESENT IS THE FACT THAT OUR INDEPENDENCE IN DIAGNOSING NAD TREATING PATIENTS ACCORDING TO OUR KNOWLEDGE IS CURBED.

THE POINT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND IS WHY CANT WE MAKE DECISIONS BY OURSELVES IF IT IS OUR COUNCIL???

LIKE ROBIN SAID NO ONE IS INTERFERING IN THE MCI AND DENTAL COUNCIL, NURSING COUNCIL ETC......

LET US TAKE DENTISTS AS AN EXAMPLE.......COME ON THEY TREAT TEETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I TREAT MORE PARTS OF THE BODY AND ALSO I TREAT THE PERSON AS AWHOLE IN BRINGING BACK THE PERSON INTO A BETTER LIFE.....I KNOW THAT FOR SURE COS ITS ME WHO IS TREATING AND I KNOW ALL THOSE PHYSIOS WHO ARE OUT THERE ARE FEELING THE SAME WAY.
IF A PERSON WHO CAN TREAT A TOOTH CAN PRACTISE INDEPENDENTLY UNDER THEIR OWN COUNCIL AND ALSO INDEPENDENTLY IN THE SOCIETY, ALSO TO THE FATC THAT THEY USE "DR" IN FRONT OF THEIR NAME...........WHY CANT A PHYSIO WHO HAS LEARNT FOR ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS THEM......4 AND A HALF YEARS FOR GRADUATION AND 2 YEARS EXTRA FOR POST GRADUATION......THAT IS ALONG TIME TO STUDY....I GUESS EVERYONE AGREES.

WHY DOES ALL THIS EGO HAVE TO COME IN THE WAY BETWEEN OUR DREAMS TO ACT AS A RESPONSIBLE PERSON PRACTISING PHYSIOTHERAPY AND SOME PERSONS WHO REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT PHYSIO IS ALL ABOUT......I THINK THERE ARE STILL DOCTORS OUT THERE WHO BELIEVE WE STILL GIVE ONLY MASSAGES AND ALSO THE INFRARED.
