The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the third memory, the fourth practice, the fifth teaching others.

Yes you can attribute this to the pregnancy; although rare, AVN can develop due to altered biomechanics around the pelvis an hips during late pregnancy and also relating to the fetous compressing on and increasing venous pressure thus obstructing bl. flow to the hip. Always presents with more advanced AVN of left hip; and more pain in left groin.

Hi Robin, I am unsure of any exact timeframe.. as I suppose the duration for AVN to progress to loose the femur head would be different in each case depending on the amount of foetus compression, venous pressure, blood flow to the hip, hormonal levels raised PTH (effects bone) etc, mechanical stresses due altered biomechanics, any pre-existing pathomechanics, weight gain and speed of weight, duration of weight bearing, patient positioning during rest etc. etc. and all other possible causative / contributing factors of AVN compounded by or occurring coincidentally with the pregnancy.
