Tsunami Victims Relief Aids - Contributions are greately appreciated.

Physioblasts.Org requests its users to join hands in the humanitarian task of raising funds in the aid of asian tsunami victims. Contributions can be to.

Indian Prime Minister's National Relief Fund The donations can be made by cheque or draft in the name of “The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund” and sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, South Block, New Delhi 110001. As per directions on the subject the nationalised banks are not to charge any commission on preparation of drafts favouring the PMNRF.

Contributions can also be made directly at the branches
of ALL BANKS in the country.

Contributions can also be sent through Money Orders with no commission chargeable. Contributions to the PMNRF have ben notified for 100% deduction form taxable income under section 80(G) of the Income tax act.

All contributions to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund are fully exempt from Income Tax under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961 subject to the prescribed limits

Asian Tsunami Disaster

26-12-'04, Sunday Tsunami wave, which hit India for the first time today wreaking havoc across the southern coastline of India is a known phenomenon in the Pacific Ocean region stretching from Chile in Latin America to Japan in Far East Asia. The waves, which caused by a massive earthquake on the Indian Ocean and claimed thousand of lives in India and six other countries, are usually triggered by seismic disturbances - coastal earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or undersea landslides - that jolt the ocean floor. Often, tremors displace ground surface, sending an entire column of water in motion outward from an earthquake region - often with disastrous results thousands of kilometers from their origin. The difference between Tsunami waves and tidal waves is that while the former hit only the harbors and coastal areas even as the other parts of the sea remain calm the latter make the sea rough.
